'"I saw a documentary in high school that really turned me on to getting aware of it. It didn't change my diet then, but it made me think about the myths about protein. I said a while ago that when I quit playing football, I would probably become a vegetarian and I thought I needed the protein. Then I did some research with doctors who in their world are considered kind of radical. To me, it's radical we have heart disease and 12-year-old kids with diabetes. "'

Lizzie Armitstead - Vegetarian Wins First GB Olympic Medal 87-mile road cycling race - When she won, I did presume she was vegetarian! "we lived mostly on a diet of rice, beans, ugali (a dough made of maize flour and water) and green vegetables. The list of gold medals the Kenyan athletes have won on the track is almost endless. (On a personal note, I returned home to run a marathon in under three hours.)" Lizzie says she thrives by not "eating corpses" and insisted on being vegetarian at age 10, a common age for realisation that the dead flesh was from animal bodies!
Jessica Ennis has a high carb 'low-protein' lifestyle (fruit juice for energy!) and won Gold for UK heptathlon 4th August 2012, although not vegan. Victoria Peddleton recommends a low fat high carb lifestyle too: 'I tend to have two slices of wholemeal toast as its rich in fibre which can help you feel fuller for longer and so could help stop snacking. I have it for breakfast and it works for me! My personal favourite topping is peanut butter topped with slices of banana.'
Yohan Blake (beat World Champion Sprinter Usain Bolt) eats 16 ripe bananas a day as part of his training lifestyle for energy (a minimum of 32g protein a day in fruit alone).
Banana for exercise fuel (carbs) and repair - potassium (which regulates heartbeat, muscle repair and water retention regulation. Eating fat, and the fats left in your stomach, make you bloated not the fruit. Bananas help to improve digestion. It shows that it's not about how bulky you look it's about how finely tuned and strong you are, from the inside out! Saturating your gut with animal fat and animal protein is just that - filling it with hard-to-digest corpses, bad for stamina. One medium banana contains: 2.3g Protein. See. Rainforest Run & Protein in Bananas
